Janashakti leader surrenders before Nalgonda SP

NALGONDA: Vanapatla Koravaiah alias Vijay alias Sudhakar, Central Orissa Zonal Committee member surrendered before Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar here on Wednesday.

A native of Vaikuntapuram of Nereducherla mandal, Koraviah, a school dropout, initially worked for the Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) and later joined the party in 1989, the SP told reporters.

He was selected as organiser of Mellacheruvu and Kodad mandals but later sent as a courier to CPI-ML (Janashakti) group at Godavariloya of Khammam district, where he worked till 1996.

Subsequently he came out from party and organized Rythu Coolie Sangam meetings and programmes. Again he joined the CPI-ML (JS) in 2004 and worked as member of Naguleti dalam. In 2005 he was sent to Jojipur district of Orissa, where he worked as deputy commander of Sukinder area. “He was elevated as Central Orissa Zonal Committee Member of CPI-ML (JS) in Orissa. Due to health problems, he left the party by the end of 2007 and underwent treatment,” the SP said.

He was involved in the murder of Congress leader Laxmi Narsaiah and former militant Dronamraju Narasimha Rao of Guntur district in 2005, Mr. Vijay Kumar said. He was also an accused in the murder of a sarpanch in Gamalapadu and the murder of three forest personnel at Kankadahoda in Janaury 2007.
