THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The festival allowance for employees and pensioners under the Department of Cooperation has been hiked. As per orders issued by Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran, the festival allowance for pensioners will go up from Rs.325 to Rs.400. Family pensioners will get Rs.300 in place of Rs.225. The Minister has also introduced festival allowance of Rs.750 for those handling collections on a daily basis. Employees would get bonus of up to Rs.8,400 in place of festival allowance of Rs.1,000 specified by the Centre. Orders had also been issued for resumption of bonus for employees of Sahitya Pravarthaka Saharkarana Sanghom at Kottayam. The Onam allowance of employees of Devaswoms in Malabar under control of the Devaswom Department would be increased from Rs.1,050 to Rs.1,500. —Special Correspondent
