CHENNAI: Round 4 of the JK Tyre National racing championship gets underway this weekend at the Madras Motor Race Track in Irrungattukottai. The endurance race is slated to begin on Saturday. The formula car races and Group A bike race will be held on Sunday. This weekend will also feature an additional race in the Formula Rolon class because the races of Round 3 could not be held due to incessant rains. The second race of Round 3 will be held along with Round 5. The JK Tyre National Enduro championship will be held concurrently with the Formula LGB Hyundai races. The position in the Formula Rolon class at the end of Round 2 remains unchanged, with Saahil Shelar of Team WSRF-Leela leading with 29 points while Saran Vikram of Team Speed NK Racing with 22 points is second. But Saran Vikram heads the table in the Formula LGB Swift class after three rounds with 58 points followed by Karthick Shankar of Team TVS Girling (48 points). In the Formula Hyundai Endurance class, Karthick Shankar of Team Rams Racing is the leader with 14 points followed closely by team-mate Naren Shankar (13 points).
