Kolkata is where my heart is: Taslima

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: Her “heart is in Kolkata.” But the controversial Bangladeshi writer, Taslima Nasreen, is reconciled to her “staying on in New Delhi.”

“I wanted to return to Kolkata but have been advised by the government of India to stay in New Delhi,” Ms. Nasreen, whose visa has been extended for six months, told The Hindu over telephone on Wednesday.

“I accept the advice of the government with grace. India is my home though Kolkata is where my heart is.”

Ms. Nasreen, who had left India in March, returned on August 8 after spending a few months in Europe.
