Ranu to take part in world meet

BHUBANESWAR: The coveted ‘Strong Woman’ title winner and power-lifter Ranu Mohanty is set to make her hat-trick soon.

She has been selected to represent India at the forthcoming World Power Lifting Championship in Canada in November.

Ranu emerged as the national champion at the recently concluded senior national championship held at Durg in Chhatisgarh in 75-kg. category to claim her participation in the World meet, informed her coach and mentor Hariprasad Patnaik.

Earlier the acclaimed athlete represented India in the Asian championship thrice, bagging gold once and silver twice, he added.
