Committees for Dasara finalised

BANGALORE: The State Government has constituted 21 sub-committees for holding various cultural events and exhibitions on a grand scale during the 10-day-long Dasara festival in Mysore, commencing on September 30. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has appointed the chairman and vice-chairman of all the committees.

The committees and their chiefs are: Cultural committee: B.P. Manjunath (chairman), Pradhumna and Kashivishwanath Shetty (vice-chairpersons); Procession committee: Parashivamurthy (chairman), M.G. Mahesh and Visvesvaraya (vice-chairmen); Tabloid committee: Go. Madhusudhan (chairman) and M. Satish and Muralidharan (vice-chairmen); Yuva Dasara committee: H.V. Rajeev (chairman), Ramesh and D.H. Manjunath (vice-chairmen); Sports committee: N.K. Sundar (chairman), T. Narayana and B.K. Manjunath (vice-chairmen); Decoration committee: Gopalaraje Urs (chairman), Vittal and M.C. Vinay (vice-chairmen); Welcome committee: Mayor Ayub Khan (chairman), B.R. Pai and Vamaran Rao Bapat (vice-chairmen); Accommodation committee: Sa. Murali (chairman), M. Ramesh and Vaman Rao (vice-chairmen); Wrestling committee: Prahalad Rao (chairman), Pailwan Ch. Ramesh and Pailwan T. Ravi (vice-chairmen); Tourism committee: Mallappa Gowda (chairman), Raghavendra and Ganesh Rao (vice-chairmen); Publicity committee: Chi. Cha. Rao (chairman) and Ashok Kumar (vice-chairman).

The film committee comprises: Shruti Mahendar (chairperson), Chetan M. Rao and R.V. Ganesh (vice-chairmen); Poets’ committee: Shivarajappa (chairman), Ambalike Hiriyanna and B.V. Vasanth Kumar (vice-chairmen); Air Show committee: G. Pratap (chairman), Giridar and Ganesh (vice-chairmen); Food festival committee: R. Narasimha Murthy (chairman), Suresh and Yeshaswini Somashekar (vice-chairmen); Farmers’ Dasara committee: M.G. Ramakrishnappa (chairman), Nanjundaswamy and Satish (vice-chairmen); Arrangement and Clean committee: Bho. Umesh (chairman), Sharat and Prakash Patel (vice-chairmen); Rural Dasara committee: S. D. Mahendra (chairman) and Shivaram (vice-chairman); Dasara Janapada Theru committee: Chinnaswamy Oddagere (chairman), Satyamurthy Bhat (vice-chairman); Women and Children Dasara committee: Sunanda Palanetra (chairperson) and Sowbhagya Murthy and G. Gayathri Pandu (vice-chairmen); and Yoga Dasara committee: S.L. Chandrashekar (chairman) and Raghavendra Pai and Narayana Bhat (vice-chairmen).
