Constable beaten by kin of patient

BERHAMPUR: A police constable was beaten by a group of relatives of patients at Bhanjanagar government hospital in Ganjam district on Wednesday night. They alleged that the constable had stolen Rs. 5,000 from the bag of a patient. The constable, who is posted at Kulada outpost had to be rescued from the mob by a police team led by Bhanjanagar SDPO, Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra.
