‘Assault’ triggers protest

KORAPUT: Members of the Koraput District Bar Association took out rallies at Koraput, Jeypore, Kotpad and Nabarangpur on Thursday in protest against the alleged assault by police on Satyabrata Padhi, an advocate from Jeypore on Wednesday evening. The association demanded a judicial probe into the incidence wherein the policeman had allegedly assaulted the advocate.

Mr. Padhi was assaulted for not giving way for the police vehicle, the association said.
