Staff Correspondent
DAVANGERE: The Karnataka State High School Assistant Masters’ Association has urged the Government to set up a committee to set right anomaly in the pay scale of assistant teachers in high schools.
M.P.M. Shanmukaiah, president of the association and S. Gopal Das, vice-president of the association, told presspersons here on Thursday that the during the President’s Rule in the State, the Governor had sanctioned Rs. 200 a month as special allowance to assistant teachers and assured them that a committee would be set up to set right any anomaly in their pay scale.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party Government was yet to set up a committee in this regard, they added.
As many as 14 MLCs had won elections with the support of assistant teachers. But none of them had come forward to solve this longstanding problem, they said.
