BANGALORE: The State Government on Wednesday submitted to the Karnataka High Court that it is in the process of reconstituting the search committee consisting of eminent personalities it had set up to select the Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore.
The Principal Government Advocate made this submission when a public interest litigation petition relating to the constitution of the search committee came up for hearing.
When the Bench sought to know the Government’s stand on the issue, the advocate said a decision had been taken to reconstitute the committee.
The Bench adjourned the case.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran and Justice V. Gopala Gowda on Wednesday directed the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to file a time schedule on the construction of flats for slum dwellers now residing at a playground in Austin Town.
Several residents of the area had filed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition challenging the action of the BBMP in resettling slum dwellers in the playground.
