Back in the news

After a brief lull, Niloufer Hospital is back in news, again for all wrong reasons!

First it was baby missing cases and later the strike observed by junior doctors a few months ago protesting the high-handed behaviour of MIM leaders that paralysed services at the hospital. This led to untold miseries for several children as proper treatment was not made available.

On Monday, the death of a six-year-old Shiva triggered protests with the boy’s relatives accompanied by CPI (M) workers staging a demonstration alleging that the incident took place due to doctors’ negligence. Is there a way out for the institution to wriggle out of such unsavoury episodes?
