‘Harassed’ clerk tries to end life
Staff Reporter
GUNTUR: A clerk working in the office of Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha attempted suicide on Wednesday night after reportedly being vexed with continued harassment from her senior colleague.
The issue, which has been simmering in the administrative circles for the last week, flared up again after her colleagues reportedly asked her to withdraw a complaint made to Mr. Laddha against the office superintendent. She consumed some tablets, collapsed in the office and was rushed to a private hospital. Her condition is stable now.
When reporters from a few news channels sought clarification from Mr. Laddha on Thursday afternoon, he reportedly lost his cool and asked them to show restraint while reporting sensitive issues.
