Okoro nets winner for Mohammedan Sporting
KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting returned to winning form as it beat George Telegraph by a solitary goal in a premier division encounter of the Calcutta Football League on Thursday.
Mike Okoro scored in the 82nd minute to give Sporting full three points and keep it in the title hunt.
The match, held under lights, was held up for 19 minutes owing to power failure in the Salt Lake Stadium. Mohammedan Sporting, which lost 0-2 in the previous encounter against East Bengal, struggled for most of the occasion against Telegraph. A moment of brilliance from Okoro saved the day for Mohammedan Sporting which has tallied 23 points from 11 matches.
This also helped Sporting tie league leader Mohun Bagan on points, but the latter has played a match less. — Principal Correspondent
