Competitions to mark Annadurai’s birth centenary

PUDUCHERRY: The Youth Wing of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is organising a number of competitions including recital of poems, elocution and essay writing to commemorate the birth centenary of former Chief Minister C.N.Annadurai on August 30 and 31.

According to a release, the party will hold the competitions for students of high schools and higher secondary schools at Ananda Thirumana Mandapam.

The three winning contestants in each competition would receive cash prizes of Rs.5,000, Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively. Ten other participants would receive a consolation prize of Rs.1,000.

Apart from this, the first two winners in each category would participate at the competitions to be held at the Tamil Nadu level.

Health Minister M.R.K.Panneerselvam stated that in Cuddalore the essay, poetry and oratorical competitions for school students will be conducted at S.K.V.Higher Secondary School, Kurinjipadi, on Saturday.
