Workshop on detection of fake notes conducted

VISAKHAPATNAM: A workshop on “Detection of fake currency” was organised by the State Bank of Hyderabad at Grand Central Hotel on Friday. General Manager of RBI M. Sanjaya and Assistant General Manager, RBI, Hyderabad, M. Krupanandam conducted the workshop.
They explained with the help of slides on the method of detection of fake notes. The entire currency is under the domain of the Reserve Bank of India, which plays the role of Central Bank, Supervisor, Regulator and also as Currency Manager. RBI had come out with a clean note policy in the past. It ensured clean currency notes by insisting on proper sorting of notes and prevention of stapling of notes.
The frequent pinning of the notes was spoiling the quality of the notes. The RBI officials explained about the security features on the currency notes and the methods of checking them.
Staff of SBH and other banks in the city, customers and general public attended the workshop that was held in two sessions.
