Free medical services at Lifeline Express

Kakinada: Lifeline Express, the world’s first hospital on a train, a joint initiative of the Government of India, Impact India Foundation, WHO, UNDP and UNICEF, will be rendering free medical services at Samalkot station from Sept 4 to 20.

During this period, free surgeries will be performed to rectify cleft-lips, cataract and deafness, according to district Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi.

The Collector stated that tests would be conducted for patients of cleft-lips, deafness and cataract on Sept 4, 10 and 16 respectively and the surgeries would be performed on all four days following those dates. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Rotary Club have come forward to extend necessary help.
