NREGS rules violated

BIDAR: Violation of rules in works carried out under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) at Mudhol (B) village of Aurad taluk has been detected by Aurad tahsildar Geeta.

Ms. Geeta conducted the inquiry on directions from Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta. She visited Mudhol (B) village on August 24 and 25.

According to the report, 34 works had been carried out. It was evident that earthmovers had been used in works such as nala turning and go-katta construction but the Nominal Master Roll (NMR) included a list of workers employed for the same. Silt had not been removed from the Mahadevana lake, according to the report.

According to official sources, the gram panchayat secretary concerned has been suspended , and further inquires are on.
