Consumers urged to save energy

NEW DELHI: Emphasising the need for conserving electricity, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday urged consumers to join the ongoing efforts to save energy. Addressing the BSES’ Bijli Gyan Abhiyan, where she felicitated winners of an inter-school quiz competition, Ms. Dikshit said: “It is good to see an overwhelming and an enthusiastic participation from both Government and private schools in this educative program on energy conservation. I sincerely hope that all students who participated in this program will help in spreading the message of energy conservation”. Delhi’s Power Minister A K Walia also declared that “energy conservation is the need of the hour”. The winners of the quiz competition were awarded with cash prizes of Rs. 15,000, Rs. 12,500 and Rs.10,000 and a trophy was also given to the top position holders. Two best slogans on energy conservation were given cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 each.
