KOCHI: Nair Service Society general secretary P.K. Narayana Panicker has said that the NSS is not keen on opening self-financing medical colleges under the present dispensation. The fee structure and intervention from various quarters had proved harmful to the growth of medical colleges in the self-financing sector, he told The Hindu here on the sidelines of a meeting organised by the NSS Karayogam, Kadavanthra, here on Saturday. Mr. Panicker, addressing the gathering, called upon the community to uphold the principle of respecting other communities. “Mutual respect is an inseparable part of any social service organisation,” he said. He inaugurated a three-storey building of the karayogam at the function.
