Bangalore: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has cautioned people against buying sites in the “European Township” being developed by Granity Properties at Boodigere Cross near Old Madras Road as it has not been approved by the BDA. In an official press release, the BDA said that anyone “who bought property in this unauthorised township would be solely responsible for any problems emerging out of such transactions.” “It has come to the notice of BDA that a private developer Granity Properties Pvt. Ltd. has advertised through print/electronic media and outdoor publicity that the proposed European Township falls within the local planning area i.e., BDA limits,” the release said. “As per Section 32 of the BDA Act of 1976 and Section 17 of Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act 1961, it is mandatory to get the layout plan sanctioned by the BDA to form any residential layouts in BDA jurisdiction. In this case, neither the company has submitted any proposals for sanctions nor has the BDA approved the layout,” the release said. A list of BDA sanctioned layouts has been posted on the www.bdabangalore.org for the benefit of public, the release added.
