Dairy farmers get loans

Thiruvananthapuram: The Bank of India’s Uchakkada branch, in association with the Neyyattinkara Integral Development Society (NIDS), organised a loan-distribution programme at Uchakkada, near here, the other day.
Beneficiaries
The bank gave loans to 1,500 dairy farmers and 50 women farmers participating in a goat-rearing project in the area.
Ninety-seven self-help groups of the society’s Uchakkada unit were lent Rs. 1 crore.
Bishop of Neyyattinkara diocese Vincent Samuel inaugurated the function.
The bank’s zonal manager, Babu V. Mathew; branch manager Vimal Kumar; NIDS director Shajikumar; and its Uchakkada unit president, Alyosius, were present.
