Man stabs wife to death

TAMBARAM: A 21-year-old woman died after she was stabbed by her husband at their house in Teacher’s Colony, Pazhavanthangal, on Friday, the police said.

Anbazhagan (25), working as a cook in a restaurant and his wife Selvarani, used to fight often. On Friday afternoon, Anbazhagan stabbed his wife in a fit of rage and fled to Sholinganallur. He was picked up by police at a checkpost on ECR. He was taken to his house early on Saturday morning, where Selvarani was found lying in a pool of blood. Anbazhagan was then arrested.

A 27-year-old housewife succumbed to burns on Saturday after setting herself ablaze at her house in Medavakkam on Friday.

The police said Selvi and Ganesan had married four years ago.
