Cash-at-judge’s door case: CBI custody for four
Chandigarh: The CBI on Saturday told a Special Court that former Haryana Law Officer Sanjeev Bansal, the key accused in the cash-at-judge’s door scam, has said a Delhi-based businessman had asked him to deliver Rs.15 lakh to Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Deposing before Special Judge Jagdeep Jain, the CBI counsel said during questioning, Bansal said he was asked by Ravinder Singh, who is absconding, “to deliver Rs.15 lakh to Justice Yadav before 8:30 p.m. on August 13.”
Justice Yadav has gone on leave ever since her name came up in media reports.
The court remanded Bansal and three other accused to CBI custody till September 1.
The CBI, which took over investigations from Chandigarh Police, had sought seven-day remand for the accused on various grounds. PTI
