Chennai: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and AIMS Education, Chennai have entered into an agreement to promote education through video conferencing.

BSNL plans to provide the video conferencing facility in more schools and colleges. It would provide studio facility, infrastructure and ISDN connectivity while AIMS Education would take care of the content delivery and promotion, a release from AIMS Education said.

BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal inaugurated the virtual classroom programme on Saturday. The video-conference sessions delivered by AIMS Education were streamed live to two different locations – the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Circle Telecom Training Centre at Meenambakkam and the BSNL Teleshoppe at Greams Road. About 200 teachers, academicians and students participated in the session.

AIMS Education director Gita Prabhu said that students would be trained to excel in Science and Maths talent search examinations and Olympiads.
