VIZIANAGARAM: The row over land at Jonnaguddi where huts of 387 families were destroyed in a major fire accident in May this year deepened with the Revenue and Endowment Departments claiming rights over the land. While the Endowments Department has been maintaining that the land in survey numbers 777 and 779 belonged to MANSAS Trust, the Revenue Department claiming that it was not incorporated even it though the land belonged to the trust. Meanwhile, the Tehsildar of Vizianagaram had put a board claiming it as government land and the Assistant Director (Endowments), D. Brahmaramba, had also erected a notice board a few feet away from the Revenue department’s hoarding, claiming the property to be of MANSAS Trust, Vizianagaram. She said that in the Endowments records it was clear that the land belonged to her department. It may be recalled that after the fire accident, Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana and local MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy said that the government would construct houses on the same site if MANSAS donate the land. The issue remained unsolved since then and the fire victims have been living in makeshift tents on the same land. Medical camp put offAs government doctors at the district headquarters hospital, as a part of stir plan, have applied for mass casual leave on Monday, the medical camp being conducted for issuing certificates to physically challenged has been postponed. It will be held on Oct 6, according to P. Venkateswara Rao, Assistant Director, Disabled Welfare Department in a press release
