A labour of love from New York out of the box



New role: Raghu Kunche with ‘Miss Manhattan’ Elisha Henry.

Raghu Kunche is going places, literally. One of the popular male anchors of the Telugu television recently returned from New York and with him brought an album ‘Love In New York’.

The versatile personality from entertainment industry who is a composer-singer-actor-anchor and what not, has shot a total of eight numbers with the American beauty, ‘Miss Manhattan’ Elisha Henry. A student with the New York Film Institute , the 22-year-old beauty features in the album with Raghu for songs, one of which is in English.

“It is a beautiful album dedicated to love shot in some breathtaking backdrops of snow, tree line avenues and nature,” says an excited Raghu who earlier did albums such as ‘Raghu With Love’ which had a remix of some popular Telugu numbers of Rafi, Ghantasala and Balu among others.

“My original idea was to have a Telugu girl for the New York album but Elisha Henry, who is also into modelling, floored me with her looks,” says Raghu who also did the music and lent the voice for the numbers.

The initiative which is getting ready for release in October first week also has two DJ mix numbers.

Hailing from a small village near Rajahmundry and driven by his desire to make it big with music, Raghu apart from the telly also won laurels on big screen with some popular songs for films including ‘Bachi’ for which he crooned the runaway hit ‘Lachmi Lachmi’, ‘Deshamuduru’, ‘Holi’ and ‘Nuvvu Vastavani’. On the small screen, the talented anchor-artists with quite a few Nandi awards in his kitty, made a mark for himself with shows such as ‘24 Frames’, ‘Song Bhala’ and ‘Samaja Vara Gamana’.
