ADILABAD: Medical services were nearly paralysed in the district following availment of leave by doctors en masse. However, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Babu claimed that a few doctors attended emergency cases. The DMHO said 86 doctors of the 99 in primary health centres across the district had applied for a day’s leave on Monday as part of the agitational programme of Government Doctors Association. The 18 doctors on contract attended duties. Meanwhile, three persons died, including two children with viral fever. These deaths were not related with the agitation of doctors. Kotnak Rambai, 2, and Madavi Mahesh, 6, of Pochampally in Indervelli mandal, died on Sunday night and Monday morning respectively. In Chanda (T) near Adilabad, K. Shubham, an Intermediate first year student succumbed after suffering from fever for the last 10 days. Fevers continued to ravage tribal mandals even as Jainoor Tahsildar B. Vishwamber shifted eight persons to the PHC on Monday. The persons belonged to Mankuguda, Karnamguda, Babulguda and Gudamamda villages.
