Doctors call off protest

The mass casual leave resorted to by doctors in the Government General Hospitals on Monday was a bigger ordeal for the sick and ailing who braved the searing sun to reach the out-patient block.

Doctors at the GGH stayed off duty by opting for casual leave to protest against the inordinate delay in the implementation of the Central Government Health Scales (CGHS) for non-teaching doctors.The doctors, however, called off the protest by afternoon following an assurance by the Government.
