Vedanta targets 1 m tonne of copper capacity

CHENNAI: Vedanta Resources is planning to reach one million tonne of copper production capacity by 2010 with the existing capacity in India (Tuticorin and Silvassa) of four lakh tonnes per annum and with the expansion of capacity at KCM, Zambia, to five lakh tonnes. The balance one lakh tonne would be achieved through de-bottlenecking/ capacity optimisation.
