Sensitise people to nuclear deal, says Vasan

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Congress workers should organise public meetings in the nook and corner of the State to explain to the people why the Centre has signed the Indo-U.S. nuclear agreement, Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G.K. Vasan said on Tuesday.

Releasing a handbook on the deal written by A. Gopanna, he said the author had written books on the Sethusamudram project and on the Karmaraj rule. These books should be used as propaganda materials by the party workers for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Former Union Minister S.R. Balasubramoniyan, said the agreement would enable the country to have enough uranium for its nuclear power projects.

S. Peter Alphonse, MLA, called for creating a strong movement in favour of the deal to counter what he called the “false propaganda” of the Left parties.
