Trigger Apparels Limited, a subsidiary of KG Denim, has opened its first stand-alone showroom in Coimbatore city. According to V. Rajhagopallan, Director (marketing), the outlet will have a range of jeans, cotton casuals, casual shirts and knit range. The price range starts at Rs. 799 and goes up to Rs. 1,299 a piece. Trigger products are currently sold in over 1,500 multi-brand outlets in the country. Trigger plans to open 100 showrooms across the country in another 12 months. The company plans to upgrade the backend operations on the concept of fashion hub. The aim is to identify the fashion demands of consumers in each area and design the products accordingly, he said. The company will also be scaling up jeans production from the current level of 2,500 pieces a day to 3,500 pieces a day. The company aims at an annual turnover of Rs. 100 crore by 2010. Trading in currency futures beginsIndian Rupee Forex Futures trading started at Coimbatore Capital, a trading member of National Stock Exchange, recently. D. Balasundaram, Chairman of the company, said the exchange traded currency futures would help exporters and importers dealing with U.S. dollars reduce risks resulting from the change in the dollar-rupee exchange rate. The small and medium-sized companies here would benefit. The availability of prices over 12-month period would help them, though most trading would be confined to contracts of near three months. Coimbatore Capital would conduct awareness meetings on Exchange traded currency futures in major cities in the State. Training programmeThe Apparel Training and Design Centre will organise Diploma in Knit Garment Manufacturing Technology programme. A release from the institute said the Tamil Nadu Most Backward Classes and Denotified Community Welfare Department would sponsor the one-year course for backward, most backward and denotified community candidates. Eligible candidates should be aged between 18 and 35 and should have passed plus two/degree. The annual family income should be less than Rs. 1 lakh. A walk-in interview would be held at The Apparel Training and Design Centre, Tirupur Road, Kaikattipudur, Avinashi – 641654 on September 11 at 10 a.m. The candidates should have original mark sheets, transfer certificates, community certificates, income certificate, two passport size photographs and self-addressed envelops with Rs. 5 postage stamp and one set of photocopy.
