BANGALORE: Three new meet marks were set on the opening day of the KPMG cadet Bangalore City inter-School athletics meet, here on Thursday. Kundan Kumar of Indian International School bettered the high jump record in the boys’ under-12 section with a leap of 1.41 metres (Old: 1.40m), while in the u-14 section, K.S. Raghav Raj won the shot put title with a record throw of 12.0m (old: 11.42m). In the girls’ u-16 section, Nirupama Sunderraj of Baldwin GHS erased the old mark of 12.5 seconds in the 100m dash, clocking 12.3 seconds. The results (winners only): Boys: U-10: 100m: Sachin Coelho (Sophia HS, 14.7s). 200m: Aditya (Vidyashilp, 32.9s); Long jump: Sri Dattacharan (Vidyankietan, 3.72m). U-12: High jump: Kudan Kumar (IIS, 1.41m, NMR. Old: 1.40m). 4x100m relay: Bishop Cotton, 55.9s. U-14: Shot put: K.S. Raghav Raj (SJR PS, 12.0m. NMR. Old: 11.42m). 100m: Edward (Seventh Day Adventist, 12.3s). U-16: Long jump: Tanuj Balvia (Vidyaniketan, 5.62m). 800m: G.P. Naveen Kumar (SJBHS, 2:14.7). Shot put: Gagan Pal Singh (SJIHS, 10.52). Girls: U-8: 200m: Priscilla Salve (Mother Eng. School, 35.4s). U-10: 100m: Sneha Ravi (Ryan International, 15.8s). U-12: Long jump: Vaishali Somaiah (Clarence HS, 4.39m). 4x100m relay: Vidyashilp Academy, 59.4s. U-14: High jump: Shristi Sunit (Vidyashilp, 1.41m).
