Govindan Nair to be D-G of Prosecutions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to appoint senior lawyer in the Thiruvananthapuram Bar V.G. Govindan Nair as Director-General of Prosecutions. He would replace P.G. Thampi, who had stepped down from the post over a week ago.Mr. Govindan Nair, a fellow traveller of the CPI(M), is a sports enthusiast and had served as member of the Indian Olympic Association and president of the Kerala Sports Council.
