Bishop Cotton reigns supreme School notes

BANGALORE: CMR National Public School hosted an inter-school basketball tournament recently. The tournament in 7th year attracted teams from 22 schools. In the boys category, the defending champions Bishop Cotton Boys’ High School beat the team from National Public School (Indiranagar), while in girls category the team from Bishop Cotton Girls’ High School prevailed over the team from New Horizon Public School.

Founder’s Day

Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, celebrated its founder’s day recently. On this day, which marks the birthday of its chairman A.F. Pinto, the Ryanites reached out to the old, orphans, destitute and the margianialised section of society.

The celebration began with the Bible reading, a special prayer and a melodious number by the school choir. A visit to Cheshire Ladies Old-age Home, Pavitra Kutumbashrama Charitable Trust, Abhaydhama, the orphanage at Whitefield, marked the day’s celebration. The day came to an end with the sapling plantation by the members of the Environment Club.

Independence Day

The 62nd Independence Day celebrations at Air Force School, Hebbal, was marked by dances, songs and competitions. The students of nursery section presented a dance to the tune of a patriotic song, which expressed the courage and determination of the tiny tots to protect the freedom.

The primary section students took the audience to a historical journey with a tableaux on freedom struggle, while secondary and senior secondary students presented a cultural programme that paid rich tribute to the nation.

Various competitions held brought out the creative skills of children. The students of senior classes worked under the guidance of their teachers.
