KOCHI: The Ernakulam Town Central Police on Thursday arrested three persons from different places in the city during a special drive. Jishi, also known as ‘Undampori’ Jishi, 30, of Manassery, Thoppumpady, was arrested while allegedly attempting to break into Shreyas Hardwares at Gopalaprabhu Road at 1.15 a.m. on Wednesday. The accused has cases at Ernakulam South and Thoppumpady stations for robbery and assault. Jinu, also known as Justin, 29, of Mundamveli, Rameswaram, was arrested while allegedly trying to break into Jos Electricals at Valanjambalam at 2.30 a.m. He has cases registered against him at Thoppumpady and Palluruthy for pick-pocketing and assault. Abbas, 39, of Elamakkara, was arrested while allegedly attempting to break open the collection box in front of Siva Temple at 3 a.m. The arrests were made by the crime squad led by Circle Inspector G. Venu, as instructed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ernakulam, P.M. Varghese.
