2 truckloads of bedsheets from State to Bihar
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The State government has decided to send eight truckloads of bedsheets, estimated to cost Rs. 1.6 crore, to the flood affected families in Bihar. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy flagged off two truckloads of bedsheets procured from the APCO at the Legislative Assembly premises on Wednesday. The government had decided to send twenty ‘108’ ambulances to the flood-ravaged State and the number would be increased depending on the request made by the government.
The Andhra Pradesh government was prepared for providing whatever relief its Bihar counterpart seeks from the State.
Meanwhile, the CPI State council had announced its decision to send Rs. 2 lakh cash to the Bihar relief centre set up by the party as first instalment. The party called upon its leaders and activists to raise money through donations from philanthropists for extending its contribution to the relief measures.
The amounts mobilised could be sent to Society for the A.P Communist Council Cyclone Relief Fund, Makhdoom Bhavan, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad – 500029.
