“Sonia meet will surpass Chiru’s gathering”

HYDERABAD: AICC secretary Iqbal Singh has said that the gathering for AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting at Anantapur on Anantapur would surpass the crowd that attended the launch of the new party by actor Chiranjeevi in Tirupati last month.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday after reviewing arrangements for AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s proposed visit to the State, Mr. Singh claimed that the Congress party would retain power with ease as there was no strong opposition party that could challenge it.

He ruled out any serious threat from the Praja Rajyam Party of actor Chiranjeevi.

There was lot of expectation about the new party and the public meeting, but the actor did not make any impact, he contended
