Unlicensed stocks seized from retail store

Thiruvananthapuram: A squad of the Civil Supplies Department carried out an inspection on the Big Bazaar retail outlet near Pazhavangady on Friday and seized unlicensed stocks of 149.05 quintals of rice, two quintals of wheat, 18.63 quintals of pulses and 3969 litres of edible oil. Department officials said the stock was stored for retail sale. A case has been registered against the outlet under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act. — Special Correspondent
