Six arrested

Mettupalayam: The Mettuppalayam police have registered cases against six persons in connection with the clashes that took place between two groups on Friday night during and immediately after the Vinayakar Chathurthi idol immersion procession.

It is learnt that pelting of stones in counter to raising slogans led to damage to the windscreens of nearly 15 vehicles.The police registered cases against the Hindu outfit activists and Manikandan and five others have been arrested
