Belgaum: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner of Belgaum, Satish B.C., will be conducting an inquiry into the attack on S.S. Khanagavi, Chief Engineer of Karnataka Neeravari Nigama (KNN) (north zone), Belgaum, during the nationwide bandh organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Bharatiya Janata Party and other organisations, recently. According to Dr. Satish on Saturday, he will be conducting the inquiry into the incident for two days at his office here on September 18 and 19, as per the directions of the Government, he said. Those who have witnessed the incident may depose before Dr. Satish in person and submit in writing any information that can throw light on the incident, before September 17. The submissions can be sent through post also. All such submissions should include the name and official/residential address of those sending them. Supporters of BJP MLA Abhay Kumar Patil attacked Mr. Khanagavi on July 3 in the presence of police officials. The police initially arrested four supporters of the MLA. The next day they arrested Mr. Patil. However, he was released on bail later.
