Workshop for women entrepreneurs

GULBARGA: For the first time, budding women entrepreneurs in the region will be provided basic training and information about various fields such as information technology, biotechnology, readymade garments, service sector and dairy farming at a workshop on “Development of women entrepreneurs in the Hyderabad Karnataka region” here on Monday.

The workshop is being organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), the Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI), the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka, Bangalore, and Stree Shakti Mahila Abhivruddhi Samasthe at the Srinivas Raghoji auditorium in the HKCCI building.

Speaking to presspersons, co-chairpersons of the organising committee Sangeeta Kattimani and Chaya Degaonkar, entrepreneur R.S. Vijaylaxmi and HKCCI president Umakant Nigudgi said the aim of the workshop was to throw open avenues available to women entrepreneurs and discuss problems faced by them in marketing their products and getting finance from banks.The workshop will be inaugurated by Minister for Animal Husbandry Revu Naik Belamagi. Assistant General Manager of State Bank of Hyderabad B. Hemasuder Rao and Raj Bhasin, chairperson of the FKCCI Women Entrepreneurs Committee, would be guests.

Ms. Kattimani said experts from different fields would give lectures in the technical sessions, which would begin soon after the inaugural function.

Women entrepreneurs, representatives of self-help groups in the district, and students pursuing vocational education in women’s colleges would participate.
