BJP national executive to be held in Bangalore from September 12 to 14 Advani, Rajnath Singh to be accorded reception on September 11 BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will review the performance of its ministers on the occasion of its government completing 100 days in office in Karnataka. BJP State unit president D.V. Sadananda Gowda told presspersons here on Saturday that the review would be taken up soon after the completion of the party national executive committee meeting to be held in Bangalore from September 12 to 14. Sources in the party told The Hindu that the review was likely to be done by party central leaders Arun Jaitley and M. Venkaiah Naidu though a formal decision was yet to be taken on this. The review would not only find out whether the ministers were working properly, but also assess how the Government was responding to the aspirations of the people. The review might be held for two days, sources said. National executiveMeanwhile, the BJP is gearing up to hold the three-day national executive of the party which is being held for the fourth time in the State after 1986, 1993 and 2001. However, this is the first time that the national executive is being held when the party is in power in Karnataka. Mr. Gowda said the party would hold a grand reception to BJP president Rajnath Singh and party’s prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani, who would arrive in the city on September 11. The leaders would be brought in a procession from the airport to the city. In all, 246 delegates would be attending the national executive, including chief ministers of seven States and deputy chief ministers of three States. As many as six delegates from the party’s Karnataka unit would attend the executive. The party had decided to hold a public meeting at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi of Bangalore on September 12 which would be addressed by Mr. Advani, Mr. Rajnanth Singh and Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. 100 daysMr. Gowda said the party would launch a campaign on the occasion of its government completing 100 days in Karnataka to ensure that the development programmes announced by the Government reached the beneficiaries effectively without the role of middlemen. He evaded a direct reply when asked if it was proper for the BJP, which had staged series of protests demanding early election to the State Assembly, to delay elections to Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike. He said that it was the responsibility of the State Election Commission to decide on the timing of BBMP elections.
