Vegetable fair begins today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Agriculture Department, in association with the State Horticulture Mission, will hold a plantain-vegetable fair from September 7 to 11 in connection with Onam. In a statement here on Saturday, K. Jayakumar, Additional Chief Secretary and Agriculture Production Commissioner, said plantain and vegetables would be procured directly from the farmers and sold at reasonable rates to consumers. The fair will be held at the Thycaud police grounds. Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran will inaugurate the fair. — Special Correspondent
