Laurels all the way: Master Kishan displaying the award he won for his movie ‘C/O Footpath,’ in Bangalore on Saturday. BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Saturday that the Government would restrict transfers, and focus on implementing development schemes. Addressing presspersons, he said, “I am dissatisfied with the manner in which officials are transferred”. The Government had not been able to check mass transfers owing to various reasons, including pressure from MLAs. Officials would be transferred within the limits of the administration to ensure good governance, he said. The Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) had criticised the mass transfer of officials by the Government. Transfer of heads of departments and other cadre officials had become a routine affair, they had alleged. The Krishna Government had formulated a transfer policy to check unnecessary transfers and ensure minimum tenure of three to five years for a person at a particular office. But the BJP Government had transferred a large number of officials in the past three months, they alleged. The Opposition had no moral right to speak on the issue, Mr. Yeddyurappa said. An official of the Department of Personnel Administration and Reforms said the Government had decided to formulate a transfer policy to ensure minimum tenure for a person at a particular place. Mr. Yeddyurappa said tenders would be floated in 10 days for work on the Rajkumar memorial at Sri Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore. Earlier, producer Parvathamma Rajkumar and actor Puneet Rajkumar met the Chief Minister and donated two cheques for Rs. 2.5 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Bihar Relief Fund. Mr. Yeddyurappa congratulated Kishan who won the “Swarna Kamal” for his movie “C/O Footpath.” It has been decided to allot him a 60X40 site in Bangalore.
