Ajay clinches honours

HYDERABAD: J. Ajay Sagar of St. Patrick’s School clocked 27.04 seconds to clinch the honours in the senior boys’ 200m in the St. Andrews inter-School athletics meet, here on Saturday.

The results: Senior boys: Long jump: 1. Akshay (CMR School) 4.53m, 2. Mukesh (St. Andrews), 3. Akhil Shukla (St. Andrews). 200m: 1. J. Ajay Sagar (St. Patrick’s) 27.04s, 2. Vijay Raj (St. Patrick’s), 3. A. Ravi Kumar (CMR). Shot put: 1. B. Pavan (Johnson Grammar) 10.07m, 2. Bhargav (St. Andrews), 3. Zubair (St. Theresa’s).

Junior boys: Long jump: 1. Mahender Yadav (NSKK) 4.33m, 2. Kaushal (CMR), 3. Sri Harsha (St. Andrews). 200m: 1. Kiran Kumar (CMR) 30.02s, 2. Sri Harsha (St. Andrews), 3. Justin (NSKK). Shot put: 1. Vageesh (DPS) 8.11m, 2. Chandrasekhar (CMR), 3. R.K. Milui (St. Mary’s).

Senior girls: Long jump: 1. M. Pratyusha (St. Andrews) 4.48m, 2. Y.D. Mamatha (Holy Family), 3. R. Sruthi Reddy (Holy Family). 200m: 1. Shruthi Reddy (Holy Family) 37.02s, 2. Y.D. Mamatha (Holy Family), 3. Srivalli Goud (St. Andrews). Shot put: 1. Fatima (St. Theresa) 5.85m, 2. Snighda (St. Andrews), 3. Meryll (Don Bosco).

Junior girls: 200m: 1. Sri Divya (CMR) 37.01s, 2. A.K. Shreya (St. Andrews), 3. P. Sowmya (Johnson). Shot put: 1. Anushka (St. Andrews) 5.70m, 2. Evelin (Holy Family), 3. Deepika (Holy Family).

Agni triumphs

Sai Agni Jeevetesh outwitted M. Shivarama Krishna in the boys’ second round of the State under-17 chess championship in Hayathnagar, near here on Saturday.

Important results: Second round: Boys: M. Shivarama Krishna (1) lost to Sai Agni Jeevetesh (2); D. Chanakya (1) lost to K. Anand Reddy (2); G. Mallikarjun (1) lost to Deepthamsh Reddy (2); Raghav Srivastava (2) bt N. Sharath Chandra (1).

Girls: P. Saisrija (1) lost to J. Sahari (2); V.S.S. Priya (2) bt P. Tejaswini (1); Sanjana Singh (1) lost to A. Kavya (2); A. Keerthana (1) lost to Siri Hinduja Reddy (2); V. Divya Bhavana (2) bt M.A. Arshiya Anjum (1).

The Corporate Indoor Games will be held simultaneously in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore from September 20 to 28.
