Chennai: Hyderabad’s Ashwin Yadav’s hat-trick helped dismiss Assam for 190 on the second and final day of the Buchi-Babu all-India invitation cricket tournament second round match at CPT-IP. Hyderabad had made 388 for six on the first day. Yadav, who finished with figures of four for 27, captured his wickets in the space of seven balls without conceding a run. Thrilling winCombined Districts clinched a thrilling one-wicket win over MP. Despite Gaurav Shivsagar’s four for five runs, and Amit Sharma’s four wickets for 31 runs, Districts surpassed MP’s 136 in 50.5 overs. Kerala fell short of Karnataka’s score by 13 runs, despite R.V. Gomes’s 132. Azhar Bilakia’s 116-ball 94, which included 13 fours and one six, took Baroda past Rajasthan’s 315 in 79.4 overs. Chasing Gujarat’s 251, HP was dismissed for 147 with Timil Patel bagging four wickets. TNCA registered a five-wicket win over Vidarbha, overhauling 201 in 62.5 overs. Only an hour’s play was possible in the match between Andhra and Saurashtra, after poor ground conditions (overnight rain) delayed the start. The match was drawn with Saurashtra at 32 for one, chasing Andhra’s 353. Both teams finished with a point each. The other winning teams were awarded four points each. The scores ( second round, day two): M.P. 136 lost to Combined Districts 137 for nine in 50.5 overs (K. Noorul Riaz 43, Amit Sharma four for 31, Gaurav Shivsagar four for five); Hyderabad 388 for six bt Assam 190 in 57.2 overs (Amit Sinha 53, R.R. Parida 42, Ashwin Yadav four for 27, Vishal four for 84); Vidarbha CA 201 lost to TNCA XI 202 for five in 62.5 overs (M. Vijay 46, R. Prasanna 45); Karnataka 324 bt Kerala 311 in 87.1 overs (R.V. Gomes 132, S. Sharma 51); Gujarat 251 bt HP 147 in 60.3 Overs (Shafiq Khan 43, Timil Patel four for 47); Rajasthan 315 lost to Baroda 316 for five in 79.4 Overs (Satyajit Parab 45, Anupam Gupta 60, Azhar Bilakia 94, Pinal Shah 56); Andhra 353 drew with Saurashtra 32 for one in 15 overs.
