Anaemia detection camp

Staff Correspondent

Chitradurga: Over 50 per cent of Indian women are anaemic, more so during pregnancy, said president of the Chitradurga Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Thoyajakshi Bai.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, she said the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Societies of India (FOGSI) was conducting a yearlong campaign to educate women on such issues.

As part of the FOGSI campaign, a team would visit Chitradurga on September 9 to conduct free medical check-up sessions for women. The team would comprise five doctors. Twenty-five lady doctors of the district would help them, she said.
