People demonstrate before police station

KORAPUT: Hundreds of people demonstrated in front of police station at Narayanpatna in Koraput district on Saturday. The police arrested eight persons in connection with the Aug. 25 riots. Vehicular movement was paralysed as the agitators had blocked the roads leading to Bandhugaon and Laxmipur. Shops and other establishments remained closed in the town. After the intervention of Bibekananda Sahu, tehsildar and Niranjan Parida, IIC of Narayanpatna police station, the situation was brought under control.
