Actress files bail plea for second time

Mumbai: Maria Susairaj, co-accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case approached the sessions court for a second time seeking bail here on Saturday.

Susairaj filed the bail application on grounds that since the prosecution has filed the charge-sheet, bail can be granted to the accused.

The application will be heard on Thursday.

Susairaj’s advocate G. Kannur said that in the charge-sheet filed by the prosecution, no witness claims to hear any screaming from Susairaj’s residence on the day of the incident.

The bail application also states that Susairaj was only charged with destruction of evidence in the first three remands. However, it was only after the third remand that police charged her with murder though there is no evidence to prove it.

Susairaj and her naval officer fiancé Jerome Mathew have been accused of murdering and disposing of the body of Neeraj, an executive of production house Synergy Adlabs in May this year. PTI
