BERHAMPUR: Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP) Devidutta Singh had to apologise to the former general secretary of Ganajm Bar Association Manoj Patnaik after manhandling him by mistake on Friday night. The incident occurred at the old bus stand area of the city at around 8.30 pm, while Mr Patnaik was drinking tea along with his friends. The bodyguards of the SP also tried to manhandle the senior lawyer even after he told them about his identity. They claimed that they were trying to disperse the crowd. Immediately a large number of lawyers and people reached the spot and gheraoed the SP protesting against the incident. The issue pacified with apologies from the police officials.
